I was checking my bank account today and noticed I was charged 49.99 for "Dri*Avast Software" when I never made an account with Avast in the first place, nor have I purchased premium or any of their products. How can I can cancel this when I never made an account or product number? I'm unsure of what Dri* even is. Getting help directly from support has been difficult as well as they ask for specifics.
The charge is processing as of today, July 8th.

Someone(at some point) has made a purchase of an Avast product or registered for a 'Trial version' in order for the payment details to be available. Auto Renewal is UNFORTUNATELY checked by default and needs to be unchecked or cancelled.

I have also been charged £39.99 for something I didn’t apply for. Contacted them and they say I did. But hey I didn’t as I have a malware on my new iPad. So they will never admit it. So Avast keep the money and keep lying to people about it. You obviously need it more than I do..... if I wasn’t in a wheel chair I would fight on. Can’t be arsed

The transactions have been initiated by the same vendor, beginning with DRI* (Digital River). I have submitted a refund form at Avast and Digital River both, I am however unsure if they are going to get back to me. I found no direct customer support thereby I must write here. Does anyone can help?
I have contacted my bank, they have informed me that the payment is on hold and they can in fact release the amounts in 8 days - if the vendor won't touch it. In case it happens otherwise, I must get back to them with a dispute claim by reporting fraudulent behaviour.

Thanks for the answer, I was a bit lost in the forum hence I did not notice the obvious. I did as you suggested (I have not noted down my ticket number though, got neither any e-mails about the submission - is that normal?) - how long will it take now approximately until Avast's Support team will get back to me, or until I get refunded? Is there no way to solve this issue by a phone call? I can only find the premium service line only - no customer support.

Be patient, a refund can take up to 7 business days. Note, don't submit multiple tickets (FIFO).

My bad, I have submitted 3 tickets (refund, unsubscribe and tech issues - regarding the same topic basically), but with different order numbers (last being all zeros). Does that ruin those seven days? Is there anything to fix it?
All in all I got no e-mail notifications after I submitted each ticket. That does not mean that they won't be able to get back to me, now does it? Since I could not retrieve and manage my subscriptions using the same e-mail address, that led to this menace in the first place (the address actually worked before - seems the problem lately is with some automatic communication modules).

I guess you used the 60day trail and gave them your credit card info?
Yes. I did that before - once I declined the subscription within the given timeframe successfully, another time I continued using a product without a problem. This last encounter however is really a mess.

Hello, on March 27/20 I was charged 69,99CAD for DRI*AVAST Software. I did not order this. I went to the link https://support.avast.com/en-ww/article/24 (advised to other users reporting the similar problem) to apply for the refund. Here is my problem with the form to complete. I have to answer the question when did I make the purchase (1. 30 days ago or less, 2. more than 30 days ago). No option "I didn't make the purchase" to check.
And then is the question "Why are you asking for the refund" with the options to choose from, but there is no option "I did not make an order". I ask for help. Thank you.

Also, I was charged today via PayPal on the amount of $89.99 by Digital River Ireland, Ltd. for DRI*AVAST Software.
The issue that my current AVAST subscription is valid until the end of Feb, so why I was charged? Also didn't receive any email from AVAST today about this Digital River charging on their behalf.

Problem as above. It charged me for a product that I didn't purchase. The option in https://support.avast.com/en-ww/article/126/#artTitle doesn't work because I don't have any subscription to cancel.
Is there any way to contact the support directly (preferably by e-mail) because otherwise I will have to close my bank account or report it as theft.

Yes you should have received an email notification, the most common cause of non-receipt is an old email address no longer used.

Hi, the amount is way too high for any of the consumer products. So, I doubt this really came from Avast.

It seems that by upgrading premium anti virus from the free one (2 years ago) a clean up program was included that I never used by the way. Canceled the premium anti virus but did not take notice of the clean up program that has to be canceled as well, for this reaason I just got billed 59,99€ via credit card for a re newal off the clean up software that was never installed in the first place! Pay attention to this when canceling your premium avast antivirus software and look out for atached software that was probably included in the package even never installed! They will bill you and there is nothing you can do!. Be warned ...

As far as I'm aware, Avast Cleanup Premium is not part of the the Avast Premium Antivirus program, though it and Avast Free have a cleanup component included.
But it only reports cleanup issues in the hope that you will purchase the paid Avast Cleanup Premium product.
Did you ever signup for the trial version of Avast Cleanup Premium, as that would require completing a payment mandate that would kick in at the end of the trial and upon renewal.
What does your Registration Information say you have for your installation (right click the avast tray icon - Registration Information).

Same kind of shit happened to me.
One hour ago I lost $39,99 from my credit card for a DRI*AVAST Software.
There was no order and no e-mail from Avast to confirm such a deal!
I've just send them request for refund with the Order ID: #00000000.
Will see what happens.

To clarify, we did send out notification emails. However, it seems that you sign up for the trial subscription using an invalid email address.
I have escalated your refund request, and we will get back to you via the case/ticket you created with us.

To clarify: this is highly unlikely that I put my wrong e-mail adress somewhere and somehow providing in the same time Avast with my real credit card number .

When signing up for a subscription one needs to manually enter details (email, credit card etc.)

Did you go for a 30 day trial of an Avast Program ?
If so did you fill in your payment information ?
If so after 30 days that payment will be processed, unless you have cancelled the trial and auto payment mandate.
Otherwise how would Avast get your details to collect the payment !

Hi i got charged a $109 payment for a dri avast software payment that i did not purchase. All free trials have auto rewnew off or have expired. Only paid for product is $20 a year and renews on November. I gussed the dri part was short for drive. I actually uninstalled avast driver updater yesterday, and even if that was the charge, its only $25 a year.. i want my money back. Why would you guys charge this excessive fee over nothing. I did not make this purchase.

If you had a recurring renewal subscription you would have had to cancel that or it would automatically renew.

The likelihood is you had an auto renewal recurring payment mandate set up, you would have had to cancel that or payment would occur.
