I just installed the free version and I think the GUI looks very nice. I haven't read of anyone complaining about it being too light or too dark or anything else of the sort. I guess this opens the door, but anyway.

Good job on this!

 :-\

To me these RCs are still BETAs cause functionalities are still going in/out and several macro-functionalities (as I got following this forum) are still not mature enough... thus feels like 1year ago: mid October, new version out (personally felt it was rushed!) and lot of problems still there!

at the end of the day I do not care whether is called BETA or RC just it has to work when release as final, but having RCs where just little tweaks are necessary increases the users confidence and trust...  ???

It would be nice if the problems and fixes were acknowledged. Some of the same errors in RC1 are still in RC2. Do we need to report these same problems all over again?

RC3 is planned and considering how well it otherwise works, it's not that rushed... It has been in public beta since august after all and NG has been in testing pretty much since last year.

Problems that have been reported from early beta to RC2 - haven't been acknowledged much less resolved.

Thanks, this seems to be working well:

The auto redirect to the update however did not work.
I needed to do the update manually in the usual "about Chrome" manner.

If you read these topics you will already see that it will be available for HDDs in a later build - There will be a prerequisite that your HDD meets a speed test, also mentioned.

Who cares about Karma points (8 to 513 to 5 to 208) - I have never felt gimmicks like these are required in a security based application.

A petition would prove worthless. I wouldn't worry too much about "karma points"
until the final version. "Karma Points" will be activated in a later release.

:-\ hope so... it would be "quite" bad for Avast whether the v2015 launch xp would be the same as v2014 in terms of improvements ans stability (v2014 that - btw - was claimed to have had the longest beta period in the Avast product history up to last year!) ...  Avast should be extremely carefully with the launch better 2 extra betas and RCs with 1 month delay rather than unstable and uncomplete product! ...errare humanum est, diabolicum perseverare!  ;D

Does HTTPS scanning gives avast! ability to prevent exploits like "Poodle" or in other words, how well is this part designed to prevent it from avast!'s end since it's inserting its own certificate and secure connection in between the browser and internet. Is the mechanism strenghtened and secured more than browser or not? It certainly gives avast! guys ability to control this part now that HTPS scanning is done as well...

For good performance of NG, it is critical to have a system disk with good random read performance. In final version, there will be no hard SSD condition, but rather a 16kB random read performance requirement (2 MB/s for example). Also it will be possible to install NG through installer even if disk performance condition isn't met.

It is possible to check the performance of system volume by "winsat disk -ran -read -drive c" command.

Code: [Select]
C:\>winsat disk -ran -read -drive c
Windows System Assessment Tool
> Running: Feature Enumeration ''
> Run Time 00:00:00.00
> Running: Storage Assessment '-ran -read -drive c'
> Run Time 00:00:09.52
> Disk  Random 16.0 Read                       1.77 MB/s          4.1
> Total Run Time 00:00:10.62

Well there goes my WD5000AZRX Caviar Green  :(
