What about the "show icon" settings and animate icon not working for me at all.. any idea?
Like i said earlier if i untick show icon it don't do nothing i unticked it as i was just wondering if that worked and it didn't..

As for the animate icon ticking it and clicking ok.. nothing happens.. I open chrome and go to for example, google or twitter.. the icon isn't animated.

Does it work for anybody else..

Have you rebooted after activating the function or, tried a repair after activating the function if a reboot didn't work

Sorry didn't look or know what OS you're using.

Nope didn't think a reboot would be needed.. I'm using Windows 8.1 64-bit.
I'll try it out and report back.

You probably only needed to restart Avast for the settings to take place.
Rebooting was the easiest way to accomplish that.

When you start out with something clean and everything you do gets checked in real time,
why waste the time on On Demand scans.
I know, it makes some folks feel good.

No, it doesn't. Not that it couldn't, but currently it doesn't as it's simply not how it was designed.

BTW this has been the behavior since the very beginning when we implemented this feature 10+ years ago.

Don't feel bad, I've used it since 2003 and am still learning new things every day.

i do not want to "dig" too much,
but why the Avast Support Tool still got this compatibility error as before?
all my tests/logs were "No sign of another conflicting AV on the system " by experts here...
p.s- i did not encounter any problem yet with avast -it works fine.
