Smart scan now search for sensitive data. What is it?

I use Avast Free so why Smart scan search for sensitive data if this feature is only in IS/Premier? If it found sensitive document it will show ad for upgrade? Or what is purpose?

Avast will try to get you to purchase the paid product. Avast isn't a non profit corp.

How do I get rid of Avast free software?  I downloaded the software and went to safe mode.  The screen in so large that the uninstall button can not be pressed at the bottom.  The button is hidden under the task bar and even with the task bar hidden, I can not get access to uninstall this program.  Avast support indicated they can help remove the software at a fee.  The product infiltrated my computer when I upgraded Chrome.

I have the latest up to date avast premier program version 17.7.2314 (build 17.7.3660.226) with all the bells and whistles the license has 6 months left on it problem is I pay way more the AU$119.95 as advertised for the ultimate version which also has all the bells and whistles I wish to use the ultimate but as you may or may not already realize is that I have all of what ultimate has to offer except the price what do I need to do to achieve the avast ultimate program without incurring any more costs. In other words for all of the other programs added to avast premier which I pay a separate amount for all of the individual programs added to the avast premier I wish to just pay one price AU$119.95.
   Edited : Will I have to uninstall all the other avast programs and reinstall avast ultimate ?

Is anyone going to answer these questions.

I currently have Avast Free version 17.6.2310 installed on my Windows 10 Pro 64-bit PC. Installing this new version 17.7.2314 produces the following error:



If I uninstall Avast Free version 17.6.2310 and try to install this new version 17.7.2314, I get the same error. I am able to install Avast Free version 17.6.2310 again, no problem.

Please advise?

Updated from 17.5.2302 to 17.7.2314 within the GUI.

Everything is fine expect that game mode settings are being reset on system restart.

I usually have only No Avast! Interruptions and Automatic Game Adding enabled (because I think its a bit ridiculous having an AV program mess with Process Priorities, Windows Update scheduling, Notifications) and everything is enabled once I restart the system.

Tried doing a repair from Programs and Features - Avast - Change - Repair but did not making a difference. Removed the component from Avast! for the meantime till this issue is resolved.

No you don't to reinstall. Ultimate is a sales bundle a specific license key let's say. so you can keep all your current products installed
