Not sure what you mean Speedy, nothing strange about that. Not sure about Paragon but Acronis also runs things in the background which if i remember correctly take up much more than 20MB of RAM.

EDIT: I forgot.  ;D http://forum.easeus.com/viewtopic.php?p=36484#36484

Great work Speedy!

That is concrete proof that Window$ AIK can be installed on a system running Window$ XP.

This thread should help everybody who chooses to run Todo Backup Software on XP.

Okay and now we have an answer to Speedy's question as well. :)

OK. For your information, Agent.exe makes sure this product can run properly, as well as incremental backup and scheduled backup and other functions.
EuWatch.exe checks and monitors Agent.exe are running properly.
TrayNotify.exe loads an icon indicator to the system tray when scheduled backup is creating the image.

Hi Speedy,

I already installed Todo Backup, backed up my entire hard drive and created a WinPE rescue disk with another computer running Window$ 7.

I was keen to know whether you could also create a WinPE rescue disk on a system running XP.

You have proven that this is possible.

The next question would be to see if it is possible to restore a file on a system running XP using a WinPE rescue disk created on a system running Window$ 7.

Best wishes,

Avastfan1

G'day all,

One more thing see attachment to show that I'm clearly proving to you that I've install the Windows Automated Installation Kit (AIK) v3.0 onto my XP Pro the link was provided by EaseUS just because it doesn't stay it not support for XP, the Windows Automated Installation Kit (AIK) allow me to create a WinPE bootable disk using the latest Todo Backup v2.5.1 as EaseUS is telling the truth their not lying ;)

All you have to do is just follow their instruction very carefully step by step you can't go wrong ;) as I've posted how I did it.

If you have any further question that you don't feel comfortable please discuss your question and issue at the EaseUS support forum website.

The next question would be to see if it is possible to restore a file on a system running XP using a WinPE rescue disk created on a system running Window$ 7

Avastfan1 at this link from EaseUS support forum http://forum.easeus.com/viewtopic.php?p=36045&sid=e4d9643b3d2f9acb1254a415beb54a8d#36045 saying you can used your WinPE bootable disk you've already created from W7 to restore your backup on XP, this mean you don't have to install the Windows Automated Installation Kit (AIK) on XP to create a WinPE bootable disk using your EaseUS Todo backup software you've already install onto your XP and you can still use the same disk to restore your backup on XP. All you have to do is try it end of story ;)

Hi Speedy,

Thanks for the detailed information. How can I restore the backup of my hard drive without bollocking my system though?

Won't the backup overwrite my existing hard drive? Can I test it another way?

Thanks and best wishes,

Avastfan1

Hi Speedy,

Thanks for the link. What exactly did you backup, and restore, when you did your test? Did you restore your whole hard drive / partition or just a file?

Avastfan1

I just restore the partition during the test and I'm sure you could do it restoring the whole hard drive, all I can say is try it out yourself

Hello Forum,

I successfully used Todo Backup Software again to create a backup of a hard drive. It is free software, easy to use and quick.

Thought I would share my experience with the forum in case somebody else was looking for similar software.

Avastfan1

ToDo backup is a piece of garbage! On the surface it looks good until you actually have to restore the 'back-up' it has made. Then you will see what i mean as it will not restore sh*t!! Do yourself a favour, delete it and look for a reputable back-up program.

Hi Justinlee,

What experience do you have with the software?

Speedy backed up his whole hard drive and it restored without any problem.

Perhaps you might care to add to this pool of experience?

I used ToDo for a few weeks for back-up and system image and i thought it was good until i had to restore from a back up and the software kept on crashing and giving error messages. In the end i had to re-install Windows. Now, i am sure there may be a few people out there who have used it and like it but i can only go by my experience with this software and my advice would be to stay well away.
